Mission Trip Costa Rica

As some of you may know, I went to Guatemala in Feb. of 2011 with my Girlfriend. While there we saw a lot of poor and lost people who needed help. When you see people in need you feel an urge to help them anyway you can. Well I felt that urge, God give me that urge. When we returned from Guatemala I knew that we had to go back and help the poor. I was giving an opportunity by God and signed up to go to Guatemala, July 14th – 21st 2012, on a mission trip with my girlfriend’s church called Epic. Unfortunately, when we signed up for the Go Guatemala mission trip it turns out, 20 people signed up to go to Guatemala when the church only reserved enough rooms for 10 people to go. The other mission trip that her church was sending people on was to Costa Rica and they had no limit on how many people could go. So my girlfriend and I saw this as a sign that we were meant to go to Costa Rica … a place neither of us have been before. In San Jose, Costa Rica the group will be building houses for poor people and living our faith through our works. I know that God wants me to go to Costa Rica and expand His kingdom by winning souls to Christ. He is asking me to trust in Him financially, spiritually, and to trust in Him for my safety. Because this is an out of the country mission trip, it will not be very cheap to go. I need no less than $1450.00 to cover just the cost of the plane ticket, meals, and hotel stay. My first deadline is fast approaching. I must have $500.00 turned in on May 11th 2012 in order to buy the plane ticket on time. I am very sorry that I haven’t sent you this letter sooner. As some of you know I started school in January and I work nights; I felt overwhelmed and procrastinated on this letter. I humbly and prayerfully ask for your prayers and donations. Unfortunately, I must ask you to make an urgent donation if you are able to. If you can only pray for me, please pray that I will be able to raise enough money to go to Costa Rica and spread the kindness and love of my savior Jesus Christ. This trip is very important to me because I feel like I have been letting God down by not answering His call to help His people.Thank you so very much in advanced for your support through prayers and donations. I will stay in contact. With many thanks sincerely,Jonathan Flores (407)595-1737

Pigeon

So about three weeks ago my family found a pigeon that seemed to have had a broken leg at the time. My parents bought it home and left it out on the pouch. I called the vet to see if I could bring it in. They told me I had to call animal wildlife because they don’t deal with wild animals. I didn’t call because I wouldn’t know how they would treat the pigeon or if they would just put it asleep. So we kept the pigeon out in the back. Every day we would look at it to see if she was doing ok. We noticed she wasn’t eating the parakeet food which we served her since we have parakeets, so I had to go to Petco and buy wild bird food for the pigeon. As time went by we provided her with a blanket, food, water, and a little basket. We noticed she started eating, gained weight, and is now walking. She walks into our home and back outside. Sometimes she would try to eat some of the dog crumbs my dogs leave behind. Today she jumped into the dogs’ water and took a bath. So I had to replace their water. It’s funny having a pigeon now for a pet, although believe it or not the pigeon and the dogs are getting along pretty well.

seatbelts

So I have notice a lot of people do not wear their seat belts when driving. I don’t understand why, on my way to school I always spot at least fourteen too nineteen people not wearing their seatbelts. Do they not know that seat belts save lives? I went ahead and asked a few people and got some interesting responses. I asked one person if he liked wearing his seatbelt, and if no why? His response to me was that it makes him feel uncomfortable and makes him feel trapped against the sit. I asked a lady the same question, and she responded that it gets in the way of her breast and that it makes her feel uncomfortable. Overall these two examples share one thing in common. That wearing a seatbelt makes you feel very uncomfortable, although the more someone is to wear their seatbelt the quicker they will get used to it so it won’t disturb them again. Although they need to understand rather it is comfortable or not it is part of the law to wear a seatbelt. The law has been place there to protect the people from getting hurt when involved in an accident. Not wearing a sit belt can get you a ticket for up to two hundred dollars, plus three points on your license

Christini's

So Friday the twentieth of April I took my girlfriend out to Christini’s. This restaurant is a formal four star restaurant, located at 7600 Dr. Phillips Boulevard Suite #84 I Orlando, FL 32819. It is a very nice, very well decorated restaurant. There is a dress code requirement though; it is business casual to formal. They prefer if you do not bring any Infants or toddlers. Once you walk in you are greeted by the host and he or she escorts you right to your table. The person then pulls the chair out for you to sit in. If you bring a spouse at the end of the meal they bring her out a rose with the splines cut off. The lighting is very formal with a candle on every table. The waiter will then come and pure water in your cups and offer wine simples. Also if there is something you want that is not on the menu you could tell your waiter and they will get it. Now, being a four star restaurant and having great service does have a price. I paid for two plates, sparkling water, and one desert (that we shared) one hundred and fifty four dollars (this does include tip). So it may be expensive although I recommend you at least eat their once, it will be worth it and you will love the food (if you eat Italian food).

Texting and Driving

We have all seen accidents that could have been prevented if we did not use our phones. Yet we still do I know I do I am not going to lie. Although what does it take for someone not to use it. I have even seen police officers use their cell phones while driving. Yet if we do it we can get a ticket. I do not see the fairness in that. What would it really take for someone to stop using it and prevent an accident or possibly a death? Do people really have to experience things first hand to learn a lesson like a baby? Why do we as humans do not accept the fact the texting causes accidents and stop, is it something in our nature to refuse, or is it just the fact that we are all ignorant as a human race. I haven’t decided yet any ideas? All I can say is let us try not to text I know I will.

Catching up on blogs

So with work and school it has been hard to do all my blogs. Today I decided to do them all at once. Very bad idea if you ask me. I have run out of ideas of what to write. My girlfriend told me why not read ads on yahoo and write about them. I must say it is a good idea but I do not feel like reading ads and giving myself more to do. I am going to try to keep up with the assignments though the best I can. Although when working nights and going to bed at 6am it is a little hard. Guess I just have to work a little harder were more than half way already so that is a good thing. Anyhow I guess I’ll see everyone in class tomorrow hope you all had a good spring break I know I needed it.

Not Getting Eight Hours Of Sleep Causes Health Issues

Do you work long hours? Spouse or children keeping you awake long periods of times? Tell them go to bed and get some sleep. Studies have shown people not getting eight hours of sleep are facing health issues. Obesity is one health issue that is now an epidemic among the United States. Now you may ask what does sleep and obesity have to do with each other. The body burns calories and recuperates energy during time of rest. This process also helps keep your thyroid at a healthy state/level. Your thyroid controls your metabolism and energy levels. Having an unhealthy thyroid can cause you to feel tired all day and throw your metabolism off track. Combine with your unbalance energy levels and metabolism you’ll tend to gain weight. Also with less energy you’ll preform less throughout a normal day in which in point causes weight gain in itself. So consider fitting eight hours of sleep in your busy schedule for the sake of your health.
